My name's John Jetmore. I used to look something like this. If these pages are still on spruce.evansville.edu, then I'm still a student at the University of Evansville, and I'm probably studying Mass Communications and Computer Science. I graduate in 1999, so anyone who would like to hire me, please do =).

node->about.page_revisions

OK, this is stupid, but I feel the need for this section. I've realized how dated my pages were for quite some time, but it took about a year and some picking by my girl friend before I got around to changing them. The problem, however, is what to do.

I've basically decided to drop everything that wasn't used by myself or someone else on a fairly regular basis. The guestbook is gone, the quote of the week section is gone (although a quote section does still exist), all of the very stupid, very dated stuff about me is gone, the descriptions in the links section are gone, and the .sig gallery is gone, and the Sirius Programming page is gone

The one predominate concept in this change is that everything be simple, concise, and easily maintainable. This page is, hopefully, the only one where I get verbose.

node->about.concept

Today (12.22.97) I was walking through a local bookstore and happened to glance through a book on C++ (I picked it up because it had been written by the guy who originated C++, a nifty feat even if it was just a macro extension of C =), and I happened to see a bunch of stuff on pointers. I thought it was a cool, elegant look, so I went for it.

The other concept point is simplicity. I would hope to show that a nicely formatted page can be done in pure HTML and, in fact, without most of the fancy parts of HTML. Always a challenge.
